The Reds host David Moyes’ on-song Hammers at Anfield

West Ham United have strung together four consecutive Premier League results against the very best sides in the division.

They will hope to extend this period when they visit Anfield, Liverpool’s fortress.

The Reds have been unbeaten at Anfield for 62 Premier League games and could match their own record of 63 unbeaten home league games if they come out with at least a point against the in-form Hammers.

Moyes’ men will be eager to prevent the Reds from matching their record. The four encouraging results against top sides like Leicester City, Wolves, Tottenham, and most recently Manchester City will give them the confidence to spoil Liverpool’s record.

West Ham will be without their star-man, Michail Antonio, as he picked up a hamstring injury. Antonio has scored 11 goals in his last 13 Premier League games, and West Ham will miss him dearly when they look to catch Liverpool off-guard.

David Moyes spoke out on Antonio’s injury.

He said, “We don’t think it’s too bad, but it’s enough to keep him out of this game against Liverpool.

Klopp, on the other hand, wasn’t as open as his counter-part on his side’s injuries. Although he made it clear that stand-in centre back Fabinho would not be ready, he didn’t rule out either Thiago Alcantara or Naby Keita.

Without Fabinho in the side, Klopp is likely to turn to Rhys Williams to make his Premier League debut on Saturday evening. Williams made his Liverpool debut in the 3rd round of the EFL Cup against Lincoln City earlier this season.

The 19-year-old has impressed with his composure at the back and was rewarded with a Champions League debut at Ajax’s Johan Cruyff Arena. In fact, it was Williams who came on to replace Fabinho when the Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury against Midtjylland at the 30-minute mark.

However, Klopp hasn’t ruled out resorting to other options to fill in for Fabinho at the back.

The German manager said, “We have other options like Henderson, or Gini (Wijnaldum) or James (Milner), or Robbo, he can play centre-half as well.

Owing to Antonio’s absence, Sebastian Haller could come in to replace him. Haller’s aerial presence is something Liverpool will have kept in mind going into Saturday’s clash.

The Hammers’ primary goal-scoring opportunities will probably come from set-pieces, as they will look to exploit the absence of Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho at the back.

Liverpool’s attacking threat will come via their newfound “fab four”. If Jota, Mane, Salah, and Firmino all start at Anfield, it will be another opportunity to showcase the Reds’ significant attacking prowess.

Last year’s fixture between the two sides resulted in a tense 3-2 win for Liverpool, with West Ham constantly posing a threat from set-pieces. The Londoners will fancy their chances to do the same this time, and the result will probably be determined by how well Liverpool can cope with those corners and free-kicks.
