Speaking exclusively to Prost International’s Adrian Kita, race winner Mick Schumacher, second-place finisher Luca Ghiotto and third-place finisher Christian Lundgaard all had their say on the Feature Race and how it panned out for them.
“Obviously, it was very fun to fun to drive around the track. The circuit is very interesting as it is very high speed.”
“It’s very interesting because I saw a squirrel out of Turn Seven and I was scared it would run out on the track with two laps to go.”
“It’s always entertaining even when you are driving on your own trying to manage the gap to the cars behing.”
“You can always try to pudh and regain time under braking that you could have lost in a previous lap. The wind also makes it interesting with the downforce from lap to lap.”
“So it’s constantly changing and you have to adapt therefore it was definetely quite interesting.”
“It was really important for me but not only because it’s Monza but I really want to get back to good results which I managed in the past.”
“I don’t want to speak to early but it looks like changing 90% of the car parts made a difference and I am feeling much more confident with it.”
“I think it’s the first time this year that I really felt fast on track because even the race win in Hungary was more about management not putting fast laps and pushing 100% whereas in the race it was completely the opposite to drive quick and get to P2.”
“It was important because Monza is a track I know really well and it’s always special to race here and I hope this means we can carry some good momentum into the final races in the F2 calendar.”
“I think it’s key because scoring consistent points will boost you in the Championship.”
“We’ve had two weekends where we scored very little points and it’s not enough in the end to keep on battling in the Championship.”
“Looking at previous years, on average you needed 22 points every weekend to be in for a shout of the Championship.”
“The way we have scored points doesn’t do it and we need to score more points. This weekend alone has been a massive change we’ve been more competitive than we have in the last few weeks and in terms of that I am happy.”
“The team is now starting to get some confidence back. I am not saying we lost a lot of confidence but we’ve been struggling and it’s been clear to see from the outside.”
“We have a car now that can fight but in the race it wasn’t enough for P1 but enough for the podium so I am happy.”
