Barcelona have reportedly offered £90m + two players to see the return of Neymar to the Camp Nou.

The Brazilian superstar left Catalonia for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017 in a bid to win the Ballon d’Or and the Champions League.

To this date neither have been achieved and maybe it is a typical case of  ‘the grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence’.

Although Neymar has bagged a sensational 58 goals in 64 matches for the Parisians, his time there has been marred by injury and a fan frustration at his constant efforts of simulation.

Would Neymar return to Barcelona, the club that made him in Europe, and return to the shadow of Lionel Messi?

Well that is a much more successful shadow than the one he is currently under in France, with Kylian Mbappe taking all the plaudits this season for PSG.

People forget how good Neymar was at Barcelona and how everyone was tipping him to be the best player after the retirement of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. He won two La Liga’s, three Copa Del Reys and a Champions League with Barca, and will look to add to that collection if he does return this summer.

There are six players rumoured to be heading the other way if the deal does go through. Two of which commanded £100m+ fees themselves in Ousmane Dembele and Phillippe Coutinho, but evidently the Camp Nou hierarchy would willingly dispose to see the former Santos man return.

The other four players are Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, Samuel Umtiti and Malcom.

It is a struggle to see Paris accepting this offer but if the cash sum was upped and the deal was wanted by both parties, it should certainly be completed. The saga of the summer?
