Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal
TASAs John Daly makes a sale in French at the Fox and Friends bar in Rue de la Monnaie.
Contrary to popular folklore, it’s not just the bars of countries that the Scots play in that have good reason to remember the Tartan Army with fondness.
The Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal (TASA) aims to make an impact on every country Scotland visit, by raising money for a local charity.
The Sunshine Appeal’s work is now 16 years old and began in a real warzone.
Rising from the money left from fundraising to buy a prosthetic limb for a young boy in Bosnia, since 2003 the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal has been donating to children’s charities in every country that Scotland has played away matches.
To date, approximately £150k has been raised and donated. Marking the #SWNT’s first participation in FIFAWWC, the money given from this trip will be their 74th donation.
The chosen charity in France is a children’s hospital in Paris as group trustee John Daly from Stirling explains.
Prost will be there next week when the cheque is presented in what will surely be an occasion to make all Scotland supporters, players and administrators very proud of Daly and his fellow volunteers.
