AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Boruc signs one-year extention

Veteran shot stopper Artur Boruc has penned a one-year contract extension at AFC Bournemouth, extending his stay at the Dorset club into a sixth year.

The 39-year-old made 17 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side this season, seizing control of the starting berth between the sticks ahead of ex-Chelsea gloveman Asmir Begovic.

And, despite Irish talent Mark Travers starting the final two games of the campaign, Boruc remains in Howe’s first-team plans ahead of the Cherries’ pre-season preparations.

The former Celtic custodian initially arrived at Vitality Stadium on loan from south coast neighbours Southampton, before signing a permanent deal in 2015.
