Charlton striker Kit Graham named FA Women’s Championship Player’s Player of the Year

Kit Graham has been named FA Women’s Championship Players’ Player of the Year

Graham scored 12 goals in 16 league appearances for the Addicks this season. As a result of her impressive performances throughout the campaign, the striker received the ultimate accolade from her opponents.

The award combines votes from opposition players who voted for a Player of the Match after every fixture. This means that the Addicks player received the most votes from the 11 teams competing in the league.

Speaking about winning the award, Graham spoke to the club’s media team saying:

“I feel extremely grateful to receive this award. I’ve played against some very talented players this year.

She added: “I’ve experienced some highs and lows this year after being injured for a while, so to win came as a bit of a surprise to me. I’d like to thank everyone for their support.”

At 23-years-old the Charlton academy youngster has already scored over 200 goals for the Addicks and has been playing for the team since the age of 16.

The striker spent a large portion of the early half of the season out injured but fought back to impress, which included a 25-yard wonder striker against promoted Manchester United.

Charlton finished third in the Women’s Championship, winning 13 of their 20 matches over the course of the season. Their final match of the season ended in a 4-0 win over Leicester City, Graham bagging a hat-trick.
