Mauricio Pochettino has been charged by the FA for his post match confrontation with referee Mike Dean.
Pochettino has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charges, meaning he will all but certainly be in the dugout for the midweek fixture against Carabao Cup losing finalists, Chelsea. Although the touchline ban could result in the Argentine missing the North London derby at the weekend.
The Tottenham boss got involved in a heated debate with the official after Burnley beat his side 2-1 at Turf Moor. The Argentine also got involved in a further clash with the referee in the tunnel, and has been charged on two accounts, once for each incident.
Both Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez were left furious after reacting to something said by Dean after the game. Perez can be heard on camera stating ‘you can not say that’ whilst pointing his finger in the face of the referee.
Pochettino stated after the game he accepts responsibility and any punishment the FA throw at him. The 2-1 loss to Burnley also forced the Tottenham boss to concede their Premier League title chase is over.
