Ernesto Valverde will be the Barcelona boss for at least one more season (C) - foxsportsasia.com
Ernesto Valverde will be the Barcelona manager until the end of next season at least as the Spaniard signed a new one-year deal, with the option of an additional year, with the club.
He replaced Luis Enrique in May 2017 and has since won a La Liga title and a Copa del Rey in his first season in charge of the Spanish giants while remaining in all competitions so far this season.
This season Valverde has already got his hands on the Supercopa de España as they beat Sevilla 2-1 back in August. They will also be travelling to the Santiago Bernabéu for the second leg of their El Clásico Semi-Final against Real Madrid in the Copa del Ray with the tie currently 1-1.
As for the league Barca are currently top of the table with 51 points six better than Real Madrid, these means that the table toppers will be able to prioritise their Champions League round of 16 tie with Olympique Lyonnais. The first leg is on Tuesday at the Lyon Olympic Stadium.
The Spanish side will have to beat Lyon to make amends for their disastrous second leg collapse to AS Roma in last year’s quarter-finals.
Before that, though the Blaugrana will host Real Valladolid tomorrow night as they look to make the gap larger on their closest rivals.
Valverde’s record managing the Spanish giants is as follows a 68% percent win rate, with the boss managing 96 matches, winning 65. During that time the club have scored an impressive 233 goals and conceded just 78.
