There was 15 ties taking place between teams in the Europa League Last 32 on Thursday night with one tie having taken place on Tuesday night.

The British Isles were represented in the form of Mauro Sarri’s Chelsea, Unai Emery’s Arsenal and Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic. The latter two sides came into their ties ended up losing 1-0 and 2-0 to BATE Borisov and Valencia respectively, whilst Chelsea managed a 2-1 victory at Malmo thanks to strikes from Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud.

Napoli managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Zurich whilst Inter Milan managed a 1-0 victory over Rapid Wien. It wasn’t a good night for Austria’s other representing side Red Bull Salzburg as they lost 2-1 to Club Brugge. Benfica managed a 2-1 victory over fellow-Champions League 3rd place side Galatasaray in Turkey and Lazio lost 1-0 to La Liga side Sevilla.

Real Betis managed a 3-3 draw at Ligue 1 side Rennes in the highest scoring game of the first leg whilst Olympiacos managed a 2-2 draw with Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk managed a 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Viktoria Plzen managed a 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb with Sporting CP losing 1-0 La Liga side Villarreal. Tuesday night’s game saw Fenerbahce defeat Zenit Saint Petersburg 1-0.

There was two 0-0 draws played out last night between Slavia Prague and Genk and Russian side Krasnodar with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
