Arsenal sign Suarez on loan until the end of the season

Arsenal have completed the signing of Barcelona winger Denis Suarez on loan until the end of the season.

The deal features an option to buy in the summer, although the Spaniard did sign a new deal with the Catalan giants until 2021 before he moved to London.

The deal sees Suarez reunite with Arsenal manager Unai Emery. The pair were together at Sevilla in the 2014-15 campaign in which they won the Europa League.

Speaking with the club website, Emery said:

“We are very happy that Denis Suarez is joining us. He is a player we know well and I have worked with him at Sevilla.

“He brings us quality and options in many different attacking positions, so he’ll be able to help the team.”

The 25-year-old does have history in England as he spent two years at Manchester City before leaving for Barcelona in 2013.

He was then sold to Villarreal in 2015 before returning one season later.

During his second stint at the Nou Camp Suarez netted eight goals in 71 appearances and has won five trophies: La Liga, two Spanish Super Cups and two Copas del Rey.
