Roy Keane has been confirmed as Martin O’Neill’s assistant manager at Nottingham Forest.
He will once again team up with the former Aston Villa boss as the pair worked together during their time at the Republic of Ireland before both departing in November.
O’Neill had made it clear he wanted Keane to be part of his backroom staff again, but the former Manchester United midfielder had obligations to meet as a television pundit before taking up the role.
The former Reds player was at the City Ground on Saturday to watch his former side record a 3-1 win over Wigan Athletic.
Keane is expected at Forest’s training ground on monday.
He represented Nottingham Forest from 1990 to 1993 before leaving to sign for Man United. He made 114 appearances for Forest, scoring 22 goals in the process.
