Ivan Perisic hands in transfer request

Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request.

The move comes after Arsenal had reached out to the Serie A club with a view to loan the Croatian winger with an option to buy in the summer.

Perisic was also a transfer target for Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge at Manchester United in July 2018. It was reported that United had a bid of £44 million turned down for the 29-year-old.

Gunners boss Unai Emery confirmed at the start of January that Arsenal would only be looking to bring in players on loan, telling the media that they could not afford to buy any players on a permanent basis.

Perisic has three goals and two assists in 18 Serie A appearances so far this season. His contract is set to run until 2022, meaning Inter are not under pressure to sell the winger.

Arsenal have also been linked with Barcelona midfielders Denis Suarez and Malcolm.
