Bolton Wanderers reach agreement over unpaid wages

Bolton Wanderers have reached an agreement with the Professional Footballers’ Association to pay the club’s players their November wages.

Chief Executive Gordon Taylor represented the Bolton players during talks with chairman Ken Anderson after several of the Wanderers called their union last week.

The lowly championship side narrowly avoided administration in September after former owner Eddie Davies loaned the Lancashire side £5 million before he died.

A statement on the club website from Anderson read:

“During the conversation with Gordon we reached an agreement, but unfortunately the documentation that subsequently followed on Friday did not reflect what I thought had been agreed, which further delayed everything yet again.

“I had another conversation with Gordon yesterday and what I thought had been agreed is now accepted and hopefully will bring this matter to a swift end and we can all move on.”

Bolton are currently in the Championship relegation zone as they sit 23rd. They have won just four games from 21 so far this season.
