Millwall host Hull City at the Den on Saturday afternoon, looking to return to winning ways after drawing 1-1 with Bristol City last time out.
The visitors, however, come into the game full of confidence after their impressive win in London last Saturday, winning 3-2 against QPR.
The two sides have both struggled this season, with Millwall sitting in the relegation places in 22nd, whilst Hull sit three places above them in 19th. Just two points separate them in the Championship table, with both sides knowing the magnitude of this game even this early in the campaign.
Hull edge the head-to-head record between these sides taming the Lions 23 times whilst being conquered 21 times, with 17 draws. Their last meeting resulted in a Millwall win, George Saville and Jake Cooper securing a 2-1 win for Neil Harris’ side.
Nigel Adkins will be without Reece Burke (hamstring) and Eric Lichaj (calf) who are both very unlikely to feature whilst the Tigers will also likely be without Stephen Kingsley, Jon Toral, Evandro and Nouha Dicko.
City boss Adkins feels his side should travel to London with a belief to win this tight game stating:
The Lions’ draw against Bristol City last Sunday did come at a cost as Aiden O’Brien, Shaun Williams and Steve Morison all suffered injuries. This meant that Harris finished the game with no recognised strikers on the pitch, with Tom Bradshaw, Tom Elliott, Lee Gregory, Aiden O’Brien and Steve Morison all still doubts for Saturday’s game.
Jed Wallace deputised up front for the final ten minutes at Ashton Gate and may be called upon again with Millwall boss Harris acknowledging the injuries his side face suggesting that:
Prediction: Both sides are desperate for points as we approach the busiest time of the football calendar, but with Millwall’s striking options limited in tandem with Hull’s impressive victory at QPR, Nigel Adkin’s men could be confident of leaving London with another three points.
