Paco Alcácer completes permanent Dortmund transfer for €23 million

Borussia Dortmund have today confirmed the permanent signing of Spanish striker Paco Alcácer from FC Barcelona after a successful loan period.

Dortmund have decided to activate a €23 million clause in his loan contract after his incredible start to life in the Bundesliga.

Since joining the German club this summer, he’s been recalled back into his national side scoring three times, with a goal against England and double against Wales.

The deal which sees the striker signed until the summer of 2023, was agreed following his outstanding form which has seen the 25-year-old average a goal every 29 minutes in the Bundesliga.

In all competitions, he has nine goals in eight matches despite only starting four matches so far this season.

He had an instant impact at the Westfalenstadion, coming off the bench to score in a 3-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Spain international already has a Bundesliga hat-trick to his name and endeared himself further to the BVB faithful by netting the winner in their 3-2 victory over Bayern Munich in Der Klassiker earlier this month.

The ex-Valencia star may have now re-found his goalscoring prowess, which saw him score 43 in 124 matches for the Spanish side and convince Barcelona to splash €30 million on him back in 2016.

Dortmund face Mainz tomorrow, hoping to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to seven over second-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach.
