Slavisa Jokanovic has been replaced at Fulham by former Leicester City manager, Claudio Ranieri.
The sacking of the Serbian manager comes at a time when the London side are sitting rock bottom of the Premier League, failing to register a league win since late August.
The former Watford boss took charge of Fulham in December 2015 and led The Cottagers back to England’s top tier via the play-offs last season.
After their 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield on Bonfire Night Jokanovic questioned the attitude of his players and even how ready they were for the game, “Maybe [my players lacked fight], maybe it was the preparation, maybe it wasn’t good enough. Maybe they didn’t understand how important this game was.”
Ranieri returns to England following his sacking from Leicester in February 2017. Just nine months after guiding The Foxes to the Premier League title.
The Italian manager had a brief spell with Ligue 1 side Nantes, winning 15 of his 41 games in charge.
Now Ranieri, 67, will be tasked with dragging Fulham to safety in a basement battle which sees the bottom seven teams separated by just four points.
The Italian’s first game in charge will come after the international break against fellow strugglers Southampton at home.
The two games that follow will see the new Fulham boss square off against former employers. First, a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea followed by a home game against Leicester.
