The schedule continues with USA-Slovenia on June 18 from Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, with the USA closing out Group C action against Algeria on June 23 from Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Both matches will be broadcast live on ESPN/ESPN360.com at 6.30 am PT.
ESPN will present comprehensive coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup June 11-July 11 from 10 stadiums in nine cities across South Africa. All 64 matches will be aired live and in high definition on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC, and extensive coverage on ESPN360.com and ESPN Mobile TV. In addition, 2010 FIFA World Cup studio programs, including pre-match, halftime and post-match segments, will be presented in high definition.
ESPN will air 44 FIFA World Cup matches from South Africa – the most ever for the network in one tournament. ABC will broadcast 10, concluding with the title match Sunday, July 11, at 1:30 p.m. ET from Soccer City in Johannesburg.
The United States will face El Salvador on February 24 in Tampa, Fla., in their second match of the 2010 campaign. Kickoff at Raymond James Stadium is set for 4pm PT, and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN Classic and TeleFutura.
Following the match against El Salvador, the U.S. will travel to face the third-ranked Netherlands on March 3 in Amsterdam. Kickoff at the Amsterdam ArenA is set for 8.30 pm local time (11.30am PT), and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and TeleFutura. The match falls on the only international fixture date before the start of the tournament in South Africa, and will be the USA’s final game before naming the World Cup roster in early May.
