USA to Play Netherlands in March

Prost Amerika has learned that negotiations are at an advanced stage for the United States to play a glamour friendly against the Netherlands in March. The agent for the Dutch Football Association (KNVB), Fulco van Kooperen describes the match as 100% likely to go ahead.

The Netherlands have drawn Denmark, Japan and Cameroon in Group E of the World Cup. March 3rd 2010 is being targeted as the date. The date has been officially declared to be for international friendlies by FIFA, although other dates after the end of the European domestic season are also available.

Amsterdam Arena is thought to be the likely venue.

Update: US Soccer Federation has now confirmed the game.
