Revolution Settle for 1-1 Draw Against NYCFC at Gillette Stadium

Jackson Yueill had the first opportunity for New England in the fifth minute when a corner kick delivery from Carles Gil was sent into the area and deflected out toward Yueill. The midfielder’s ensuing effort was sent high into the air before being comfortably claimed by goalkeeper Matt Freese.

Jack Harrison had the next chance for New England in the 21st minute when a free kick into the area toward Ethan Kohler was deflected to the top of the box. Harrison met the loose ball with a shot that was deflected away and ultimately cleared.

Talles Magno had NYCFC’s first chance of the match in the 22nd minute when his effort toward goal was sent wide of the net.

Less than a minute later, NYCFC threatened again after a poor giveaway by Will Sands led to an effort from Nicolás Fernández that was blocked away for a corner kick by goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Entering the 26th minute, New England were awarded a penalty kick after Peyton Miller was brought down inside the penalty area.

Entering the 36th minute, New England took the lead.

Less than a minute later, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his second change of the match, replacing Matt Polster with Cody Baker.

NYCFC’s next opportunity came in the 78th minute when Nico Fernández’s effort toward goal was blocked by Cody Baker and sent behind for a corner kick.

In the 80th minute, Revolution head coach Marko Mitrović made his final two changes of the match, replacing Dor Turgeman and Jack Harrison with Wilson Harris and Diego Fagúndez.

New England’s next opportunity came in the 84th minute when Diego Fagúndez delivered a free kick into the area that was eventually cleared away by the NYCFC defense.
