Mexico delivered an amazing match with two goals, one from Julian Quinonez in the 22nd minute and Julian Quinonez passing to an open Raul Jimenez to score in the 31st minute for the second to make the score of 2-0 in favor of the hosts.

Ecuador delivered a tough match against their hosts, but Mexico was able to hold on after scoring twice in nine minutes. Mexico have never lost a World Cup match at Mexico City Stadium (aka Azteca Stadium) (penalty shootouts are recognized as draws) and will look to continue that in the Round of 16 on Sunday night against either England or DR Congo (7pm CT, Fox/Telemundo).
