Colorado Rapids 2-0 Portland Timbers

COMMERCE CITY, CO–Two goals were enough for the Rapids to earn their first win of the season over the Portland Timbers. Goals were scored in the 7th minute by Hamzat Ojeridan and in the 53rd minute by Lucas Herington, allowing goalie Zach Steffen to earn his first clean sheet of the season.

Steffen was on fire, as was the visitor’s goalie, James Pantemis, who made eight saves in a losing cause and didn’t prevent the debacle in the end, as his team lost its first of the season.

With Ojeridan opening the scoring and later followed by Herington with a 35-yard screamer past the Timbers keeper James Pantemis, the Timbers earned their first loss of this campaign putting their record of 1 win and 1 loss.

Despite the losing effort, James Pantemis delivered a worthy performance despite the lost cause. In the end, the Timbers delivered a valuable performance over the Rapids despite the efforts of the team being not enough. Portland finished the match with ten after Jimer Fory was sent off in the 77th minute.
