Tacoma Stars 6-7 Milwaukee Wave

KENT, WA–Tacoma Stars fell short on Sunday night against Milwaukee Wave, 7-6, in Major Arena Soccer League action at the ShoWare Center in Kent. It is the third straight defeat and leave the Stars in fifth, just one point above the playoff line ahead of Empire and Baltimore. The Wave are currently top of the MASL despite a later loss to Empire on Monday.

The Wave jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Stars pulled one back with just under two minutes left in the half through Alex Caceres. Eddie Na made it 3-2 with under two minutes left in the third quarter. Following that, though, the teams alternated back-to-back scores before the end of the third quarter until the end of the match. Mario Alvarez, Oscar Flores, and Alex Steinwascher each scored twice for the Wave; while Na and Michael Ramos scored braces for the Stars.

Next up for the Stars is a home match against San Diego on Saturday (6pm PT) before traveling to Empire Strykers on Sunday (4pm PT).
