A day in North London, back at the home of Tottenham, Martin Ho’s side returned back to N17 with the squad optimistic to break a long streak of losses in this fixture. Sonia Bompastor’s heavy rotation leaving stars like Sam Kerr and Guro Reiten on the bench was the biggest gamble of the afternoon.

For the Lilywhites a three-match suspension for Drew Spence saw Hanna Wijk enter the side for her first WSL match of her career. 

The opening 20 minutes was heavily dominated by Tottenham especially in the opposition final third. Olivia Holdt operated high up the pitch hitting the crossbar in an almighty shot.

The tides turned toward the break as the visitors gained possession and showed a stronger display getting a clear choke hold on the game.

The second half was again full of life with a long range darted pass over the top to Nüsken who hit it right at Lize Kop and it was thumped in from close range from American international Alyssa Thompson. 

Tottenham will be left disappointed that they didn’t score from any of their fifteen shots and Chelsea shoot back into the top three above London rivals Arsenal who have a game in hand.
