Providence Park, Portland, Oregon

Portland Timbers Briefly

After a hurtful loss in Frisco, Texas, and for the opposition keeper Collodi getting a clean sheet, the next foe for the Portland Timbers will be a sort of homecoming for former Timber frontman Evander.

Despite the loss against Dallas, the Portland Timbers need to rally and deliver with a very defensive approach and not allow their former man any liberties against his former team.

After Portland had the majority and dominance of the time, the Timbers were no match for an inspired and determined FC Dallas looking to move up the standings and looking for a postseason spot.

The days of Santiago Moreno are long gone, and the man won’t be back at the team anymore, after all, the man made himself a career here in Rose City, and stats speak aloud of his talent and dedication he had with the team.

In the end best of luck to you, Santiago Moreno, as the Brazilian league is no walk in the park as well as playing for a club of the likes of Fluminense, considered a powerhouse in the Brazilian League.

For now, Portland is playing a 4-3-3 formation with three forwards up front leaving the midfield without any creative midfielder that the team needs to deliver those so much needed goals.

My conclusion comes as David Da Costa needs to be in his natural position as a midfielder and not in the frontal attack, very well leaving Felipe Mora alone in the front maybe the man can get backto his old form.

As Antony’s return is somehow providential and effective for the team that needs a lot of help up front and starts creating some opportunities at goal, the team needs to focus on scoring!

FC Cincinnati Briefly

Pat Noonan is looking forward to another eventful season under the helm of the Gary’s, a moniker given to the FC Cincinnati side and armed with a lethal weapon called Evander.

After his claims of mistreatment, the man decided to call it quits here in the Rose City and move to FC Cincinnati. The man has found his scoring drive and is leading the team in overall scoring.

Despite the loss at home against Charlotte FC with Wilfred Zaha scoring the lone goal, the team is looking for an eventful run and is looking at any cost to deliver a blow to the Portland Timbers at home.

I see a very contested affair in Providence Park next Saturday, and after the kickoff, we will see all kinds of sparks from both sides and a tight contest in the end.

Forecast

A tough affair, and it can be very tight for either side, no favorites here!
