Seattle Seawolves 29-25 San Diego Legion

TUKWILA, WA–The Seattle Seawolves kept their playoff hopes alive as they defeated San Diego Legion, 29-25, at StarFire Sports Complex. Pending RFCLA’s match at Chicago on Monday, the Seawolves moved off the bottom of the Western Conference into the fourth and final playoff spot in the West with the win. San Diego earn a losing bonus point and miss a chance to go second with Utah losing at Houston.

Both teams exchanged tries and penalties in the first half, but then Riekert Hattingh got in for the hosts and Rod Iona kicked the convention to give the Seawolves a 15-8 lead. Both teams exchanged converted tries again before the Legion would get back-to-back tries through Shilo Klein and Ryan James, though both would not be converted leaving the score at 25-22.

The Seawolves would get the four points for the win and the bonus point for four tries at the death as OJ Noa plunged through under the sticks to give the Seawolves the win.

The Seawolves next host Houston Sabercats on Friday at 7:30pm PT (ESPN+), while the Legion have a bye week before going to South Florida to play the Miami Sharks on Friday, May 30th (4:30pm PT, ESPN+).
