Seawolves lose close match with Warriors

Seattle Seawolves 27-30 Utah Warriors

TUKWILA, WA–On Saturday, the Seattle Seawolves lost a close match with Utah Warriors, 30-27 at the StarFire Sports Complex in Major League Rugby action. Seattle gets a bonus point in the table for losing by seven points or fewer, but remain bottom of the West on ten points from five matches. Utah are in third in the West on 19 points.

A pair of tries by Joel Hodgson gave the Warriors a 14-6 lead while Liam Coltman scored a try four minutes into the second half to make the lead 24-6. The lead was 27-6 before Seattle rallied two three converted tries in four minutes to make it 27-20 before a penalty goal by Hodgson seven minutes from time made it 30-20. Seattle got a penalty try late, but it would only give Seattle a bonus point in the standings.

The Seawolves remain home this Saturday against Anthem RC (6pm PT, ESPN+). Utah will be home to defending champion New England Free Jacks on Saturday (7pm MT, ESPN+).
