The Timbers have proven they’re the real deal, celebrating an impressive victory away from home!

Colorado Rapids 0-3 Portland Timbers

COMMERCE CITY, CO–The Portland Timbers secured three valuable points with a win on the road against the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City, Colorado. In the 47th minute, an own goal by Colorado defender Josh Atencio from a shot by David Da Costa opened the scoring.

In the second half, the Timbers became dominant. In the 48th minute, following a pass from Santiago Moreno, Antony scored the go-ahead goal, bringing the score to 2-0. The Portland Timbers (2 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, 7 points) displayed strong performance and control throughout the match.

Still, Colorado Rapids (2-1-2, 8 points) had a few opportunities at goal, but in the end, the visiting Portland Timbers had the authority to set the game. Despite multiple opportunities from Diego Chara, David Da Costa, and Santiago Moreno missing their targets, the Timbers ultimately showcased their dominance over the locals.

Kevin Kelsy scored his first goal as a Portland Timber in the 75th minute with assists from David Da Costa and Jimer Fory to put the match out of reach for the Rapids.

James Pantemis delivered another remarkable performance, securing his second clean sheet of the season. Meanwhile, former Sounder Atencio inadvertently contributed to Portland’s opening goals with a deflection. Ultimately, the Rapids experienced their first loss of the season at home.

One notable aspect of the Colorado team is their drive and determination on the field, which has contributed to their strength throughout the season. However, during today’s match, they failed to capitalize on their opportunities and were unable to make a significant impact against a strong Portland Timbers side.

This is a big win on the road for the Portland Timbers!
