Seattle, Cruz Azul goalless in Champions Cup

Seattle Sounders 0-0 Cruz Azul

SEATTLE, WA–Seattle Sounders FC extended their unbeaten streak to 13 matches in Concacaf play (six wins, seven draws) by playing Cruz Azul to a goalless draw at Lumen Field on Tuesday night. The two sides will meet again at Cruz Azul on Tuesday night (5:30pm PT).

The Sounders hit the woodwork twice in the second half. Nouhou headed off the crossbar in the 48th minute and then Jordan Morris struck a shot off the post in the 70th minute. The hosts thought they had scored in the 51st minute after a bad clearance by Kevin Mier led to Paul Arriola putting the ball into the next, but it was determined that Arriola was offside in the buildup by Albert Rusnak’s run.

This weekend, the Sounders host LAFC at Lumen Field at 1:45pm PT on Apple TV.
