Not everything was sour at Providence Park when Diego Chara celebrated a significant milestone in his long and illustrious career by reaching 400 career MLS appearances.

Starting for the 390th time and wearing the captain’s armband, Chara became the 13th player in Major League Soccer history to achieve this impressive landmark. As the first-ever player to reach 400 matches with a single club, he continues to excel on the field. Chara is the club’s all-time leader in games played and ranks among the top 10 in both games started (390) and minutes played (34,727) in MLS history.

Having spent 15 seasons with the Portland Timbers, he has been the team’s longest-tenured player and captain, contributing 12 goals and 34 assists during his time with the club.
