Charlotte FC is prepping for a big matchup with first place Inter Miami as the end of the season nears.
It will be the second matchup between the two teams this season and the first time Charlotte will face Messi this season. The first match was played in early July, when Messi was with Argentina for Copa América, Inter Miami defeated Charlotte 2-1.
Charlotte is coming off a big bounce back win, putting together their best attacking output of the season in a 4-0 win over the New England Revolution. Prior to the win, Charlotte had lost three consecutive matches and had not won a match since July.
Inter Miami is coming off two consecutive draws with Atlanta United and New York City FC. Inter Miami has been very good at home this season, winning 10 of their 15 home matches while losing just two and drawing three.
Charlotte is facing a big challenge going against the league’s most prolific goal scoring team with just four matches remaining. This is a crucial match for Charlotte as they are currently in sixth place in the MLS Eastern Conference, two points behind Orlando City in fifth place and three points behind New York Red Bulls in fifth place.
The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday, September 28 and is available to stream on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
