After a stellar run of play throughout May and June, Charlotte FC is now on a three-match losing streak going into a road match against first place FC Cincinnati.
The two teams have already played once this season, resulting in a 1-1 draw in Charlotte, N.C.
Both Charlotte and Cincinnati have been good at preventing goals this season, with Charlotte allowing just 23 goals through 22 matches and Cincinnati allowing 26 goals through 22 matches, ranking the teams second and third in the MLS Eastern Conference.
Although Charlotte has been strong defensively this season, they will be challenged against Cincinnati, who are second in the Eastern Conference for goals scored with 42, while Charlotte ranks second to last in the Eastern Conference with just 24 goals scored.
Charlotte’s inconsistent attack will have to find different ways to score goals against Cincinnati as they will be without their leading goal scorer, Patrick Agyemang, who is serving a suspension for a red card he was given in the final minutes in the match against Inter Miami. Cincinnati will also have a player serving a suspension. Midfielder Obinna Nwobodo will be missing the match due to yellow card accumulation.
The match is scheduled for kickoff at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, July 13 and will be streaming for free on Apple TV.
