Charlotte FC wins their eighth match of the season over DC United

Charlotte FC picked up three points with a 1-0 home win over DC United and now sit at fifth in the MLS Eastern Conference with 28 points.

The clean sheet was Charlotte’s league best eighth of the season. The clean sheet was led by the play of the back line with six total shots and only one shot on goal allowed in the match with Adilson Malanda being named to the Team of the Matchday.

The Charlotte attack generated many chances with 14 total shots, but only two of them were on target. Charlotte’s only goal of the match came late in first half stoppage time when Kerwin Vargas headed the ball into the back of the net from a corner kick, giving him his third goal of the season. Charlotte had a few other good chances to score but the shots were not on target.

Charlotte will remain at home for their next match with a midweek matchup against Orlando City SC on Wednesday, June 19 kicking off at 7:30 p.m. EST and being available to stream for free on Apple TV.
