Colorado Rapids 2-0 Austin FC

COMMERCE CITY, CO–Colorado Rapids ended their four-match winless streak by defeated Austin FC, 2-0, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday. The win vaults the Rapids to sixth in the Western Conference while Austin slip to eighth and have their winless streak extended to four.

Cole Bassett opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after collecting a pass from Omar Fernandez and roofing the shot at the top of the net. Rafael Navarro doubled the lead four minutes into the second half after pouncing on a rebound after Bassett’s initial shot in the box was blocked.

The final scoreline could arguable have been greater with the Rapids spurning several chances to add to their lead. Austin would have just one shot on target and a pair of headed chances in front of goal go over the bar.
