Clinical India wrap up series win over England after another comfortable victory

India completed a comprehensive 49 run victory against England in the second Twenty 20 at Edgbaston to clinch the three match series with one match to go.

Chasing 171 for a win that would have levelled the series, England never recovered from the loss of Jason Roy first ball and were bowled out for 121 inside 17 overs.

Richard Gleeson made his debut for England at the ripe old age of 34, with England winning the toss and putting India in to bat.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant put on 49 for the opening wicket before Sharma became the first of three big scalps for the Lancashire paceman.

Gleeson produced an inspired spell of bowling which delighted the England fans in a crowd which consisted heavily of the very loyal Indian following.

First he had Sharma(31) caught behind, quickly followed by Virat Kohli(1) and and Pant for 26 to finish with figures of 3-15 in his allocated four overs.

India slipped to 89-5 before a fine unbeaten 46 from Ravindra Jadeja rallied India round to post a respectful total of 170-8 with Chris Jordan finishing with 4-27.

After suffering the blow of losing Roy to the first ball of the innings were in further trouble when captain Jos Buttler(4) edged Kumar behind.

Liam Livingstone hit some lusty blows before being bowled by Bumrah for 15 to leave England struggling on 27-3.

England never recovered from their poor start in the powerplay and with the run rate escalating up to over 14 an over it was always going to be a tough ask.

It was only down to Moeen Ali(35) and David Willey with an unbeaten 33 that put some gloss on a poor England display with the home side bowled out for 121 with Kumar taking 3-15 as Indian completed their second comprehensive win of the series to prove this form of the game very much suits their style of play.
