Glenn Moore becomes Prost International first guest columnist in new series

Prost International is already host to many talented young writers.

We have work placement agreements with several of England and Wales’ top sports journalism universities; University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), University of Derby, University of Solent, Birmingham City University, University of South Wales and are about to conclude several more agreements in the close season with four more prominent faculties in the pipeline.

Many of our writers have already progressed through us to become professional writers.

From Monday, Prost however increases its coverage by starting a series of Monday columns from a variety of diverse guest columnists who have already achieved success, including professional journalists, former players and broadcasters.

In addition to writing, all the guests have agreed to provide guidance and mentorship to our existing writers and to give back to the industry.

Our first columnist in the series is Glenn Moore.

Glenn is a freelance sport writer who worked for The Independent between 1993  and 2016.

He first covered England when Bobby Robson was manager and has attended four World Cups and six Euros.

He is also a visiting lecturer teaching sports journalism at City University in London.

He said:

“I’m delighted to start writing a regular column for Prost International.

“I’ve been impressed by its commitment to on-the-ground journalism and its mission to develop young journalists, especially those from sectors of the community who find it hard to break into an industry that increasingly requires entrants to have financial support from parents.

“I am looking forward to meeting and mentoring some of those talented writers.”

Glenn’s first column focuses on England manager Gareth Southgate.

He examines whether the amount of armchair criticism of the former Aston Villa player is reasonable and looks at the roots of the criticism.

He also compares Southgate’s record to some of the previous managers, to whom Southgate is often unfavourably compared.

After this debut column, we have a series of diverse columnists to follow.

This includes one former England international who will record a video blog and a Talk Sport broadcaster who is an expert on all things EFL, as well as international football.

The columnists will cover more sports than football. We are talking to a leading and controversial cricket writer.

The columns will appear every Monday and we will rotate the columnists to continue to provide variety.
