Relegation-threatened Watford welcome an inform Brentford to Vicarage Road

Watford will look to kick-start their Premier League survival bid when they host Brentford at Vicarage Road today.

It’s becoming an uphill battle for Roy Hodgson to keep the Hornets in the top-flight, after a disastrous 3-0 defeat to Leeds United left his side six points from safety with seven games remaining.

Watford haven’t won at home since last November when they beat Manchester United 4-1, and that form simply has to change if they’re to retain their Premier League status.

Meanwhile for Brentford, it appears they’re all but safe, winning four of their last five league games, including a 4-1 victory away at Chelsea and last weeks impressive 2-0 win over West Ham.

The Bees will be hoping for similar success on their travels as they aim to mathematically confirm their safety.

Key Players:

For the Hornets, Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis could be in line for a recall to the starting XI.

He hasn’t found the net in his last seven matches, but will look to rekindle some of the form he showcased at the beginning of the season, as he looks to break in to double figures.

Thomas Frank will be depending again on Ivan Toney to continue his excellent form in front of goal.

Toney has eight goals from as many games and will be aiming to continue his hot streak as the season draws to a close.

Team News:

Watford look set to be without Cucho Hernandez after he was forced off against Leeds United with a hamstring injury.

For Brentford, Frank Onyeka is ruled out with an ankle problem while Josh Dasilva remains on the side-lines with a hamstring issue.

Pontus Jansson will be assessed after missing the win over West Ham with illness.

Predicted Lineups:

Watford: (4-3-3) Foster; Femenia, Kabasele, Samir, Kamara; Sissoko, Louza, Kucka; Sarr, Pedro, Dennis

Brentford: (4-3-3) Raya; Ajer, Jorgensen, Pinnock, Henry; Janelt, Norgaard, Eriksen; Wissa, Toney, Mbeumo
