Playoff chasing Eastbourne and Havant set to face off in National League South clash at Priory Lane

The Sports look to win their fourth straight game to overtake the Hawks and enter the top seven.

After a rough November period, Danny Bloor’s side turned their fortunes around with three consecutive victories, including progression in the FA Trophy and most recently a 2-0 victory over Welling United at Park View Road. 20-year-old Watford loanee Dominic Hutchinson was on the scoresheet bagged his sixth league goal of the season to continue an impressive start to the National League South season.

Havant & Waterlooville have looked to build on an impressive FA Cup run culminating in a trip to the Valley, where the part-timers held their own for 70 minutes against the League One opposition. However, Paul Doswell’s side have failed to translate this into league form, as dropping points at home to Dulwich Hamlet, and most recently in a 3-1 loss at home to struggling Bath City. The Hawks have looked to build towards a return to the National League following relegation back in 2019. Two Covid stricken seasons have made a return difficult, but the acquisitions of a whole host of former National League talent such as Micheal Green, Abdulai Baggie, Scott Rendell, and Oscar Gobern.

Victory for Eastbourne in Saturday’s 3:00 pm kick-off would haul them into the playoff places, whilst a win on the road for Havant & Waterlooville would get the Hawks back on track for a promotion push.
