Circumstances are finally beginning to look positive for Adrian Lam’s side as the Warriors prepare to face Wakefield Trinity on Friday night at the DW Stadium.

Wigan come into the game off the back of two consecutive victories against Huddersfield Giants, after going five games without a win, so the confidence will be back amongst the Warriors camp after the back to back wins.

Head Coach Adrian Lam will also be boosted by a number of players becoming available after numerous different injuries and suspensions.

During his pre-match press conference, Lam revealed that he would have a further five players available that weren’t during Wigan’s last game against Huddersfield.

The likes of Jackson Hastings and Ethan Havard will return from suspension, Sam Powell will be back in contention after failing a head assessment test with Joe Bullock and Liam Byrne also in contention after overcoming injury and illness respectively.

As for Wakefield, they come into the game with one win in their last five with that victory coming against the Warriors. Wigan came into the game with a lot more injuries than they currently have now, but that result may well play an advantage to Wakefield on Friday evening.

Lam described Wakefield as having ‘some of the best individual players in the competition’ and how difficult of a task it is to come back once Wakefield get ahead, showing that the Warriors aren’t going to underestimate their visitors despite being 10th in the Betfred Super League.

However, Wigan will be looking to take advantage of Wakefield’s poor form and gain another two points on the board as they look to put their bad run behind them and look up the table again rather than down.
