The Eagles will welcome 6,500 home fans back into their stadium for the first time this year as they host Arsenal at Selhurst Park.

Palace fans will be hoping for something similar to their last game on Sunday, as Roy Hodgson’s side came from behind twice to overcome a resilient Aston Villa side 3-2. One player who brought his excellent form from throughout the season into the Villa game was youngster Tyrick Mitchell.

The 21-year-old managed to grab the late winner, however, he admitted that he was slightly disappointed to score with no fans able to greet his winner with celebration.

“No fans here is the only downside but I know they would have been happy at home so that makes me smile at least.

“I can’t wait to finally meet them in the stadium. It will be an amazing moment for myself personally and I hope they can help us finish the season strongly.”

Mitchell has competed all season with veteran left-back Patrick Van Aanholt for his spot but he now looks to be the number one choice, with the youngster signing a new contract in April keeping him at the club until 2025.

The opposition will be no easy task to overcome with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side winning their last three games, notably with their most recent victory coming away to Chelsea thanks to an Emile Smith Rowe winner.

The London derby looks set to be very much a battle between two sides of youngsters, with both teams being carried by young attacking sparks throughout the season. Arsenal will look to Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard as well as Smith Rowe, who are all expected to lead the line against the Eagles.

Eberechi Eze is another young star who is expected to shine in this fixture. The creative midfielder has four goals and six assists to his name so far in his first Premier League season, a remarkable feat that has the rest of the league admiring the Palace talent.
