Ireland captain re-signs for Glamorgan for opening month of the season

Ireland skipper Andrew Balbirnie has re-signed for Glamorgan for the opening month of the domestic season to act as batting cover.

The 30-year-old comes in with the Australian duo Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Neser unlikely to feature until at least May.

Balbiernie was with the Welsh side back in the 2019 season in the T20 Blast in which he was the top run scorer for the team.

Glamorgan begin their season with a tough looking trip at Leeds to face Yorkshire who are likely to have England captain Joe Root among their ranks for the season opener.

Labuschagne and Neser are set to be back involved for the fifth round of games when they will face Lancashire.
