Norwich travel to Nottingham Forest as they look to continue their impeccable league form

Forest will have a mountain to climb on Wednesday night if they want to end their poor run of late as they welcome a Norwich side who look to run away with the title this season.

The Canaries travel to Nottingham fresh off the back of a tight win against Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, as Daniel Farke’s men edged a 2-1 win with a Todd Cantwell screamer sealing all three points for Norwich.

Cantwell was able to complete the comeback with a stunning late goal which rattled off the crossbar and into the goal after the league’s second top goalscorer Teemu Pukki netted an equaliser earlier in the half.

The late Cantwell goal meant that Norwich will travel to the midlands on Wednesday with eight wins in a row under their belt, a form that heavily contrasts to their opponents who are now winless in four.

Forest have failed to score more than one goal in each of their last eight league games and have struggled to string any good results together, a form that manager Chris Houghton knows he needs to improve on with the manager saying before the game that:

“If we were to get a result, in whichever way we did it, it would mean that we have found a way of getting that result, even if it is through not such a good performance or a fortunate goal and we didn’t concede.”- Chris Houghton – https://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/2021/march/chris-hughton-pre-norwich-city/

Joe Lolley is the only new injury update for either side after the forward picked up a hamstring tear against Reading at the weekend, joining both Joe Worrall and Harry Arter on the sidelines as Houghton confirmed the winger would miss the rest of the season.

With Forest winless in their last three matchups against the Canaries, a home win on Wednesday night looks highly unlikely however Houghton will be looking for every point he can get as Forest look to push back up the table.
