Tottenham and Everton go head to head at Goodison park in all-Premier League FA Cup fifth round tie

Spurs look to put their Premier League form behind them and take another step towards ending their trophy drought.

Both teams knocked out Championship sides in the previous round. The Toffees were 3-0 winners against Sheffield Wednesday whilst Tottenham beat Wycombe Wanderers 4-1.

Carlo Ancelotti and José Mourinho go head to head in Merseyside in what could be a tough fixture with just one point separating the sides in the Premier League table. Spurs are sat in eighth just behind their opponents in seventh who have played two fewer games.

Despite managing just one win out of their last four Premier League matches, the hosts are still in the hunt for a Champions League place with only three points behind their rivals Liverpool in fourth.

The Toffees come into this game off the back of a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester United. Dominic Calvert-Lewin poked home a late equaliser for the Merseyside outfit who came back from behind twice to earn a point at Old Trafford.

The Lilywhites were victorious against strugglers West Brom on the weekend. Harry Kane marked his comeback from injury with a goal whilst Son Heung-min also found the net as Spurs sealed a 2-0 win to end a three-game losing run in the Premier League. However, Jose Mourinho could rest one of the two with a big clash against leaders Man City on the weekend.

If Tottenham can pick up a win on the road, they will still be left playing for three trophies this season, with the Europa League last 32 also to come this month as well as securing a place in this season’s Carabao Cup final against Man City.

The FA Cup is a competition Spurs do go far in but stumble towards the end. Losing seven times in a row when reaching the semi-finals, they have not reached the final since 1991 whilst their opponents have won the trophy five times, with their last win coming in 1995.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti will look to mark his impressive start to his Toffees career with a piece of silverware and will be confident considering the form of their visitors in recent games.

Both sides will look to put out a strong line up despite their busy fixture schedule. Calvert-Lewin, who has 17 goals this season in all competition, will look to make it hard for the Spurs defence who have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last six matches.

James Rodriguez with three assists to his name in this competition came off against Manchester United with a calf injury and is unlikely to play. However, Carlo Ancelotti will hope to have Jordan Pickford available.

Fabian Delph and Niels N’Koundou were back on the bench in the previous game after recovering from long-term injuries whilst Allan is also back in training. January signing Joshua King will hope to make his full Everton debut.

Harry Kane returned from injury to face West Brom on the weekend and could start. Dele Ali would be expected to start having only made 12 appearances this season in all competitions.

Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilón remain out with injury whilst Eric Dier, who was dropped in the win against the Baggies after giving a penalty away in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, could return.
