Injury problems for important Bournemouth duo ahead of Birmingham clash

Bournemouth have concerns over the fitness of their two top scorers this season, Dominic Solanke and Junior Stanislas ahead of the visit from Championship strugglers Birmingham City tomorrow afternoon.

Solanke limped off at half time in the midweek defeat to Sheffield Wednesday with the club awaiting the results of a scan before being able to comment further, although the addition of Shane Long will hand the club another option in attack for the visit of the Blues.

As for Stanislas, he played 87 minutes of the loss against the Owls but has been rated doubtful after sustaining an ankle injury, being rated 60-40 in chances of playing by caretaker boss Jonathan Woodgate.

Like Long, fellow January signing Ben Pearson could also be involved after being an unused sub in the last game so will become an option against Aitor Karanka’s side with the club desperate to get back to winning ways after losing four successive league games.

Woodgate has no other fresh injury concerns as he gets set to lead the team for the very first time following the sacking of Jason Tindall.
