Cardiff City eye up Wales’ Jonny Williams

Mick McCarthy reportedly wants to make Wales’ Jonny Williams his first signing at Cardiff City.

The midfielder who signed for Charlton Athletic in 2019 has been linked with a move to Wales’ capital.

Williams’ contract with the Addicks comes to an end in the summer, and he is reportedly available for less than £200,000.

With 25 first-team Wales caps to his name, Williams netted his first goal for his country away to Bulgaria in October last year.


The 27-year-old could add some much-needed creativity to a side who lie 15th in the Championship table.

Having recruited him at Ipswich Town, McCarthy will hope reuniting with the playmaker can lift the spirits at the club, as they hope to push on for a late playoff spot.
