Bournemouth win appeal of Jefferson Lerma’s red card against Luton Town

Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma has won his appeal following his red card against Luton Town at the weekend and will now be available for the next three matches.

He was shown a straight red card on Saturday after going up in the air with Hatters’ midfielder Tom Lockyer but has now seen this rescinded and will be in the squad for the trip to Derby County tomorrow evening.

The defender was forced off at the Vitality Stadium after initially continuing with a headband on but it was later revealed that he was unable to continue – although there was no intention from Lerma in his battle to win a header.

It will come as great relief to the club who really suffered following the Columbian’s dismissal and fell to their fourth defeat to the season.
