Defending champions Exeter Chiefs maintained their perfect start to the season after completing a 35-13 victory over Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Saturday.

Tigers led at the break thanks to a try from Calum Green. But the defending champions who opened the scoring through Jack Yeandle bounced back with tries in the second half from Jannes Kirsten, Ian Whitten, Sam Simmonds and Ollie Devoto.

Chiefs have scored a remarkable 108 points in their opening three Premiership wins and have conceded only just 19 points- 12 of which have come from penalties.

Bath scored five tries to hammer Worcester Warriors 33-17 at Sixways.

Zach Mercer, Max Wright and Josh McNally crossed for the visitors in the opening half, with Elliott Stooke and Semesa Rokoduguni going over in the second period before late replies from Perry Humphreys and Nick David reduced the gap.

New boys Newcastle Falcons made it three wins out of three after a 27-17 victory over Wasps at the Ricoh Arena.

First half tries from Adam Radwan and Marco Fuser earned Falcons a 17-5 half time lead.Paolo Odogwu’s fine solo effort gave the hosts brief hope, but Ben Stephenson’s intercepted try just after the break before late tries from Tom West and debutant Levi Douglas reduced the gap to ten points. But the late fightback wasn’t enough to prevent the Falcons machine marching on.

A brace from Alex Dombrandt saw Harlequins complete a try bonus point victory at Kingsholm with the Londoners winning 34-24.

Quins had to play 35 minutes with 14 men when South African Andre Esterhuizen was shown a red card for an elbow into the face of Lloyd Evans. A minute later Glen Young was shown a yellow card to reduce Harlequins to 13 men. Quins led at the break 17-10 thanks to a try on the stroke of half time from James Chisholm.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, it was Quins who hit late tries from Nathan Earle and Dombrandt’s second of the game for victory to move them up to fifth in the table and continue their impressive record at Kingsholm.

Sale Sharks completed a hard fought victory over London Irish at their new home by 21-13.

Rohan Janse van Rensberg put Sale ahead before Curtis Rona’s try in stoppage time saw the sides level at the break. Sharks Akker van der Merwe scored shortly after the restart, with AJ MacGinty’s penalty kick sealing the win.
