David Brooks returns as Bournemouth host Wayne Rooney and Derby County

Following a midweek victory over Bristol City, Bournemouth are back in action. They host Derby County who have had a mixed start to the season.

The win moved Jason Tindall’s side into the top two of the Championship and continued their unbeaten start to the season.

Derby have found it really tough this season and go into the clash in the relegation zone following Coventry City’s surprise 3-2 win over Reading, but are boosted by the return of Wayne Rooney.

The Manchester United legend has had a spell of isolation after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus, but is set to be back involved this weekend to hand the Midlands side a much needed boost.

Despite a strong start to the season, the Cherries are set to welcome back one of their best attacking players in David Brooks for the visit of the Rams.

Tindall has spoken to the AFC Bournemouth’s website about the importance of having Brooks back in the squad but how they must make sure he is ready before he plays.

“Brooksy’s in the squad and available. As I have said for the past couple of weeks, I think it was important that he trained really hard to get himself in a place where when he’s back he stays fit and involved.

“I feel he’s where he needs to be at this time and he’s back in the squad for tomorrow.

“It’s a big boost for everyone, for the football club in general it’s a big boost to have a player of Brooksy’s quality and ability available back in the squad.”

The home side currently boast the joint second best home record in the division with ten points from four games while Derby have picked up just four points on their travels of late.

It is all set to be an interesting battle on the South Coast later this afternoon between two sides who have had contrasting starts to the season.
