Brighton were awarded a penalty in the 12th minute after Aaron Connelly was brought down in the box by young full-back James Justin. Neal Maupay stepped up to take the penalty, but it proved to be a comfortable save for Kasper Schmeichel.
The visitors continued to cause problems for the Foxes, and when the hosts were unable to clear their lines, it put Connelly clean in on goal, however he wasted his opportunity, curling it just over.
Leicester did register shots on goal before the break. A ball into the box found James Maddison who has his shot blocked by the Brighton defence, and then Caglar Soyuncu headed just wide moments later.
The home did improve in the second half but they created very few chances. The best of them came from Maddison, he played a near one-two with Kelechi Ihenacho, but hit it just wide.
There was some stoppage time drama. Harvey Barnes almost picked out Ayoze Perez, but defender Dan Burns cleared it away for a corner.
From the following set piece, there were shouts for a penalty after a cross hit the arm hit the arm of Lewis Dunk, but referee Lee Mason waved it away, meaning Brighton left the King Power with a point.
The goaless draw moves the South Coast side six points clear of the bottom three, and are heading towards a fourth consecutive season in the Premier League.
Brighton have impressed since their return to action, we have seen a combianation of positive, attacking football, as well as grit and discipline at the back, which has seen them get vital results over (on paper) strong opposition in Arsenal and Leicester. Tonight’s performance was one Graham Potter will no doubt have be pleased with.
However the former Ostersunds boss will no there are not out of the battle to avoid the drop yet, they still have Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool to come in their seven games. But they have shown in the last couple of games they are more than capable of beating the drop.
