Wolves strengthen their hopes of a place in Europe after a 2-0 at West Ham United.

The Hammers almost took the lead after Mark Noble’s long ball put Pablo Fornals in on goal, however the Spanish midfielder blazed it over the crossbar.

Young full back Jeremy Ngakia then attempted one from outside the area after the break, but his shot proved a reasonably comfortable save for Rui Patricio.

Adama Traore was brought on with 25 minutes left, and in a way was the game changer for Wolves. In the 70th minute, his cross from the right flank found Raul Jimenez at the far post, who headed in from close range. That was his 14th goal of the campaign.

David Moyes’ side went in search of an equaliser, but Michail Antonio’s shot curled just over.

With six minutes remaining Wolves sealed the deal. Traore was once again involved as he skipped away from Manuel Lanzini and played in Matt Doherty, he crossed the ball from the right hand side and found Pedro Neto, who struck home a powerful volley from close range.

It was disappointing defeat for West Ham. The one positive from the match was that the match was played Behind Closed Doors , sparing the home side from any jeers they would have most likely faced by their supporters.

The Irons find themselves outside of the bottom three on goal difference, and face Tottenham and Chelsea in their next two league games.

Meanwhile Wolves find themselves level on points with United and are just two points behind Chelsea in 4th, who head to their neighbours Aston Villa in the 16:30 kick off.
