Swansea welcome West Bromwich Albion to the Liberty Stadium in a crucial game for both sides having dropped points in recent games.

Steve Cooper’s side added to their embarrassing form of conceding another injury time goal when Bradley Johnson equalised for Blackburn in the 95th minute last time out.

This has been the story of the season for the welsh side having dropped a total of 11 points so far this season from leading or drawing positions going into injury time.

These points would be gold dust for Cooper’s team who would be third in the table and well in the play-off positions had these points have been maintained.

But with Championship leaders West Brom also in desperate need of a victory to creep away from second place Leeds, fans at the Liberty on Saturday are in for a great battle.

Team News

Swansea top scorer Andre Ayew is a doubt for tomorrow’s matc after suffering a kick to the foot in last week’s game at Ewood Park and hasn’t trained this week.

Bersant Celina will remain on the sidelines with a pelvis injury suffered in training after missing the past two games through illness.

Wayne Routledge and Mike Van Der Hoorn will again miss out with their persistent knee injuries and George Byers continues his treatment for an ankle injury.

Jonathan Leko will be left out of the Baggies squad to recover from a cruciate ligament injury suffered while at loan at Charlton Athletic.

Steve Cooper

“We had a tough week, there is no hiding away from that. We felt hard done by after the Fulham game, rightly so, and the Blackburn game was a tough one. It was hard to concede as we did at Blackburn, having given so much throughout the week.

“But we are not narrow-minded enough not to look at the positives, because there were plenty of positives. We have to look forward now and we will always aim to do better.

“The mood in the camp has been excellent, training has been really good this week. There are 10 games to go, we are four points off the play-offs, and there is everything to be excited and optimistic about.”

Slaven Bilic

“We are in a positive place, we are ready for the game tomorrow against Swansea which is another big one.

“The countdown has started, you know, with 10 games to go we are in a good position. We are in a position to be confident but at the same time to be on our toes. We know not only that every point is important but also every throw-in, every second ball. There is absolutely no room for mistakes and we are approaching that in a very positive way.

“Of course, we don’t think about it as 10 games, we think only about the game tomorrow. It’s a massive one and we are playing against a team who has very good players, that likes to play football, and as I said, we will have to again be on top of our game.”
